David Caspe talks recent romances on ‘Happy Endings’ 2012/01/30 at 7:50 am
When we first started covering Happy Endings, we chatted with both the cast and producers about pairing characters up romantically. Obviously Jane (Eliza Coupe) and Brad (Damon Wayans Jr.) are together– the token married couple in the group. And Max (Adam Pally) is gay, so he has no interest in the single girls (though watching him pretend as he cycled through them all as his beards was one of our favorite moments on television last year in general). Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) and Dave (Zachary Knighton) broke up in the pilot. And then that just leaves Penny (Casey Wilson). It was always supposed to be a show about Friends, not to draw any comparisons there, then a so-called different stages of relationships comedy. But times, are they achangin?
I [still] dont know that we want to be one of those shows thats, like, all of these relationships within this group of friends, Happy Endings executive producer David Caspe thought when LA TV Insider Examiner caught up with him in Los Angeles yesterday.
