Keeping your animals safe 2011/07/31 at 4:02 am
Small pets
- Do not leave animals in a vehicle. Even if the windows are
cracked, the temperature in a car can climb well over 100 degrees
within minutes.
- When keeping an animal outside, provide shade and fresh
water.
- Keep any outside exercise to a minimum. Watch for hot, soft tar
on sidewalks and streets so it does not get stuck in paws.
If you see an animal in a car or left outside without shade or
water, call Animal Control at 608-781-4014.

Livestock

- If sprinkling livestock with water, use a fan to dry the animals
after.
- Keep out salt sticks for cows to lick.
- Keep fresh air moving in in barns.
